Davis and White are both part-time students at the University of Michigan, a very demanding college.

My daughter's on-off boyfriend is a junior at Michigan, so I happen to know that they have an extremely early academic calendar. Classes end April 23, final exams run April 25 - May 2. The World Team Trophy is April 11-14 in Tokyo. Given that they've already had to take time off from classes for Nationals, 4CC and Worlds, I can see why they wouldn't be eager to fly halfway around the world a few days before exams. Not to mention the burnout factor at the end of a long season.
